On this day at Haughton Crater...

For a lark, I've pulled up links to what was going on in my journal every year on July 27:
Day off for laundry and medical issues in camp, today in 2008.
Tired and dusty after a walkback test to the west, in 2007.
It was the day of the crowning demonstration of DAME in 2006...
I was taped for a Discovery Channel documentary, in 2005.
Weather was miserable in our first DAME drilling out on Von Braun Planitia, driving back through sleet in 2004.
A medical emergency back in camp kept us from exploring a magnetic anomaly, in 2003.
In 2002, we were comparing the geology performance of humans in spacesuits to rovers... working at the same hydrothermal chimney site as this year.

Date: 2008-07-28 03:52 pm (UTC)What was the magnetic anomaly in 2003? Did you ever get another opportunity to investigate it, or to see the beautiful unnamed river again?
