Arrgh! When Federal Express took our scientific gear home from Edmonton last August, they forgot to cancel the customs bond that was posted to insure that we'd remove everything from Canada. At the time, I even re-packed things like used paper towels and spent AA batteries...

This lay fallow for 3 months... now Canada Customs is threatening to collect on the bond. Increasingly-strident calls and email to Federal Express have finally produced a copy of the original importation permit and bond... which I just FAXed to Ottawa today with an affidavit that everything was removed back in August. But today is more than two months past the nominal 30 September expiry. Grrr.

And FedEx was supposed to deliver my new dual-G4 desktop Mac today, but it is still out in a truck somewhere... grrr.

That sounds like my package that was shipped from Seattle on the 26th, and sat in Portland OR since the 27th.

It will be delivered to an apartment complex office today (in theory) where I cannot pick it up until Saturday, when both the sender and I have requested that it be left at my door. FedEx and I are not getting along right now either.

I'm actually relieved to see that I'm not the only one...

Can't you, like, tell them where to stick their lack of service?

(groan) yes... today, two of the three boxes finally arrived here. But sitting in Portland for a week... I'd be infuriated!
