With the demise of Telocity in nine days, I've jumped ship and contracted for both a different broadband provider to home, and for a new domain. Please send non-work email to brian1789@lithic.net.

If you're bored, neo@lithic.net will also reach me.

And I had a low-key-but-fun Thai dinner tonight with [personal profile] geekchick and C...

Hee! Of course my first reaction to seeing Brian's address was <Keanu>"Whoah."</Keanu> (Footnote for the pop-culture impaired *cough*Brian*cough*: it's a reference to "The Matrix", which you really ought to see. ;) )

What's Keanu?

"The Matrix"... wasn't that what they parodied in "Shrek" with those frozen-action scenes?

The question should be "Who's Keanu?" The answer is Keanu Reeves -- who was Bill (or was it Ted? the dark haired dopey one) in the Bill and Ted movies (which I know you've seen) as well as the villian in "Much Ado About Nothing" (which I also know that you've seen). He was the hero in both "Speed" and "The Matrix" which you may not have seen.

And, technically, the scene in "Shrek" was parodying "Charlie's Angels" (the Drew Barrymore/Cameron Diaz/Lucy Liu movie, not the old TV series), which in turn was parodying "The Matrix." Sort of parody once removed.
