To everyone out there who likewise celebrates it in whatever fashion, and good wishes to everyone else. Thanks to [profile] patgreene for a lovely, um, wake-up call (grin).

I was up until 3am mopping floors and hiding candy... the kids have now had their run, retrieving it again, and are now busily getting sugared before we go to a 9am family service at our church. I need to clip a rose from our yard to bring. The front hedge roses are now in full blossom, and a couple of purple irises along them.

Today I plan to cook a large meal (ham, casseroled macaroni and cheese, strawberries over angel-food cake) followed by a nap :-).

happy easter

Happy Easter! I hadn't yet done the Spring Basket thing (if I'd had my ducks in a row, I could have done it a month ago for the Equinox), so I, too, was up late dealing with baskets, eggs and candy. Fortunately, although I was very unprepared in the candy dept. this year, I tend to accumulate "stocking and basket stuffers" throughout the year, and managed a not-too-shabby set of baskets without going to the store. Well, OK, my mom helped--she sent some chocolate in the box she mailed us the other day!

Dinner sounds lovely. Wish I were there! (Especially for the NAP part!!!)

My mom and I couldn't find any hams that we liked, so we're doing a smallish turkey (about 13 lbs), stuffing, and I'm thinking of doing up some au gratin potatoes.

Any chance you'd be willing to share you recipe for baked mac n cheese? I'm a *fiend* for the schtuff! :-9~

And a happy Easter to you, too!

Thanks for the well-wishes. I hope that your service was at least as good as the one we went to was, and that you have a wonderful meal and a restful nap.

Happy Easter! That's almost exactly my family's traditional Easter dinner -- just add green beans and lemon meringue pie.

And I've friended you -- I found you through [livejournal.com profile] cathouse_blues.

And I've reciprocated :-). You have an interesting journal. Scary about the green beans and pie... the beans (with a bit of bacon or salt pork added) would have been served by my mother (and grandmother), and I went with the strawberries and angel-food cake this year because I just didn't have the time to do one of the two traditional desserts (coconut cake, or... lemon meringue pie).
