I don't follow a set pattern in daily life. One day is different in its content and timing from the previous... the next will be different still. For example, I never arrive at work at a consistent time... one day at 7, the next at 9:45, the next at 8:50. It depends on what is scheduled, and what else is going on on those mornings. It seems strange to think of living in a routine or pattern, doing the same things at the same times each day. It is hard to imagine enjoying a routine life... I like every day to be different, to force me to make conscious plans and choices every day.

I'd fret and chafe if I had to do the same things at the same times every day, conversely... OTOH, some of the problems and issues at your job are so interesting (if messy at times) that I expect you'd get a lot of novelty and stimulation, even in a fixed routine.

10 hour days, *and* the two hours of driving each way... especially at the end of the day, when you're tired.

Ironically, you and I will be relatively close to each other during the day next week, as I'm going to Huntsville, AL on business on Mon-Wed.

Well, I'm still in a holding pattern, waiting to finish up my training. As I had to make the emergency trip to Nebraska, I missed my Mock Trial, and with the convention, it got pushed back another week. My trainer is gone a good portion of the next 2 weeks, so it's now "study" until the 22nd. I'm bored with studying at work all day!

Actually, the only thing about my job that is routine is the hours. 7-5:30 Tuesday through Friday. I eat lunch when I get hungry, and I can select the tasks for the day (once I finish training), and then the routine is so very routine at home, but only because I'm boring!

Have a good time in Huntsville! I saw someone from NASA in the elevator at my convention, who was there for a different one, and thought of you.
