Worried

My sweetie and LDR of the past three years (our anniversary is 2/7, we met at alt.polycon 4) is in the hospital tonight. In the cardiac unit, unexpectedly. She is too young for this! Early-40s is unexpected for women, especially with reasonable exercise, OK cholesterol and no comparable family history.

She had been feeling uncomfortable for a few days, then got better. I thought she had simply fought off some passing virus. Then Saturday she was almost too weak to help her mom paint, then felt tightness in her chest. After sleeping on it, it was worse, with chest pain added. So she and her husband went to the ER this morning, and she was admitted. A bunch of tests later, there's still no diagnosis, and she'll have a stress test tomorrow. She sounded *so* weak over the phone... I'm really stressed and worried.

Oh, how scary. I hope it's nothing too terribly serious. Many things are fixable these days, so let's hope for one of those things.

It could certainly be worse... going unmonitored or in-denial could have led to worse. But she's generally a sensible person.

Yeek! I, too, am glad that she took herself to a hospital. I will be thinking goodthoughts your way, for you to send on to her. Let us know how things go, and take care of yourself too meanwhile, y'hear?
