Another note to self: don't read friendsfriends if I'm not prepared for whatever my friends may be saying to others. Maybe it's better not to know, sometimes...

uh.......
?
did you discover something shocking?
or was it just TMI?

I don't think I'd call it "shocking", but I stumbled on an unexpected aspect of a given friend, expressed in a journal that I don't usually read. Not bad, necessarily, just somewhat mind-bending.

So you are getting a differnt view of said friend, sometimes this is a good thing.

(nods) I think that it is usually good to get a more-complete view of someone, rather than one's own expectations or projections. Even when reality means incompatibilities.

Very true, I've learned it's easier to understand closer to the whole picture by seeing many differnt aspects of people I know.

When in doubt, ask questions...~S~
If this person posted it in such a way that you could read it, you can respond. It is a bit like a group discussion, don't you think?

I'm not sure that, in the particular case, that I want to know more right away... or for that person to know that I'm aware of what they say/do elsewhere. Enough illusion-shattering for one day, time to process it...

how does it change your relationship with said person?

I don't know, long-term. For now, more caution.
