more stretching

Tonight we went to a social event at the Rabbit Warren, until patgreene started to react allergically to the cats there. Pat had to stop and buy a blouse beforehand because the one she wore smelled funny. I wore lavender myself in honor of the weekend ;-). Pleasant conversation and stories at the RW... then we looked for dinner. Since we were in San Leandro anyway, I suggested a familiar place.

So... Pat has now lost her sushi-cherry! (grin) The expression on her face was... complex. She said that the flavor was OK to good, but the texture was disquieting. We were at the same Japanese restaurant where dawnd initiated me in turn, last year ;-).

Mixed reactions

Today usually provokes a mixed response... I'm happy to see the expressions of pride and community and love and the free expression of these. While at the same time, at a personal level reminding me that I'm marginal, an outsider. Too mundane to be at a Pride parade, too weird to be welcomed enthusiastically in parent groups or at church... not fitting well anywhere, really.

I hope that my many participating friends have a beautiful day marching or watching, as well as those up at the Loving More conference at Harbin. For me, I'll be at home working on rewiring electrical circuits and fixtures...

whew...

Another 3-4 hour home improvement project that took eight... but it is done. I need to call the building inspector tomorrow. I added a new kitchen outlet, rerouted the circuits inside the wall, and moved the fan controller switch in preparation for counter installation later this year. patgreene took the kids out of the house, bless her... to the pool, then the beach, then out for dinner. I'm dusty and sweaty... time to cool off.
