Tonight we went to a social event at the Rabbit Warren, until [profile] patgreene started to react allergically to the cats there. Pat had to stop and buy a blouse beforehand because the one she wore smelled funny. I wore lavender myself in honor of the weekend ;-). Pleasant conversation and stories at the RW... then we looked for dinner. Since we were in San Leandro anyway, I suggested a familiar place.

So... Pat has now lost her sushi-cherry! (grin) The expression on her face was... complex. She said that the flavor was OK to good, but the texture was disquieting. We were at the same Japanese restaurant where [personal profile] dawnd initiated me in turn, last year ;-).

Sounds like a positive first experience with sushi...

It's kind of funny how many people associate sushi with sex. my introduction to it was at a party where the host pointed me at the sushi and said to use lots of wasabi because "it's like an orgasm for your nose!"

Maybe the taste (sans wasabi...) scent and texture are vaguely reminiscent of certain kinds of sex? Slippery, slightly salty smell... (ducking)

I like lots of wasabi, myself, even if the kind served over here is basically just horseradish.

Several kinds of raw fish sushi, yeah. My first experience with sushi was with kappa-maki (vegetarian) so that part of the experience was missing.

I've probably only had proper wasabi once or twice. BOOM!

(nods) rolls, or the veggie or egg types wouldn't have the same subconscious sensory correlations...

My first response was "Sea urchin?" I didn't realize that Pat had never had sushi before... how is that possible?

Growing up in the south... it wasn't commonplace. And her associations with her father, who supplied a significant portion of her family's protein through weekend fishing... he had lots of bait. For Pat, sushi has ==> "bait" jokes.

And... no one ever invited her, before ;-).

My fantasy

My ex and I had this idea that if one were to combine (good) sushi, (very good) ice cream, and (incredibly hot) sex into one evening, one would simply implode (or explode) in a surfeit of pleasure.

Logistically, I usually eat my fill of sushi, which renders me unable to consume ice cream. And when I've got a full belly, I'm not usually feeling amorous. So this has meant that excellent versions of all three do not happen in the same evening.

I was recently telling someone about this idea of mine, and he suggested that I start the evening off with sex. Alas, he is not someone to whom I am sexually attracted. I've worked a bit on finding a suitable assistant to discover what happens when too many good things delighting too many of my senses are occur on the same evening. But alas, so far, no go.

(I am *so* not going to post that applications from sushi-loving, ice-cream-eating poly folks are being sought with a preference for MF dyads with bi women.)

The problem here is the phasing, methinks... if I were going for that particular trifecta, I'd invert the sequence: start in the late afternoon (say, 4-4:30pm) with sex, involving or preceded by the ice cream. Then after burning those carbs, and washing up, head out for sushi around 7pm...

I am *so* not going to post...
*giggle* double-inverted with a half-twist!
