Anyone want a slightly-dented Mustang?
Jan. 7th, 2005 03:18 pmThere's a low, foot-wide scuffed place on my Mustang's front bumper and right quarter panel that was scratched and slightly dented. That , plus a hood scratch, was enough for the insurance company to total it, and I'm buying a 1994 convertible from a guy in Richmond with the $3K insurance check.
However... the existing Mustang convertible's damage is cosmetic. It is a blue 1988 V-8 convertible with a white top and 141K miles. The transmission is 18 months old, the engine was rebuilt two years ago, the rear brakes replaced 6 months ago... the insurance company is offering to let me keep it for the salvage value of $324, plus $15 to DMV for a new title. It needs two rear tires soon. Would anyone local be interested in it as a second or backup car? At least you'd know its' service history... I have to let the insurance company know by the weekend if I want to keep it, otherwise they will take it away by Monday.
