From our drill partner... The DAME drill has finally shipped (4pm, Thursday, 7/15) and is on its way to Montreal and then Ottawa where it will connect to Resolute Bay.  In typical New York fashion, a "Jeep" commercial was being filmed on our block precisely at the moment FedEx arrived.  Filming (and all traffic) was put on hold long enough to allow us to load the FedEx truck with the precious NASA cargo.

Much less visibly, I packed my camping and personal winter gear and dropped it off at our local FedEx office, this afternoon... we'll see which shipment arrives first ;-)

I'm laying bets on yours. Logically they'd just go up the west coast and across; it would take longer from NYC.

However, the only freight service at all into Resolute (YRB) is twice a week, originating in Ottawa. My stuff is likewise headed to Ottawa, then up to Iqualuit (YFB) and hopefully onward...

Speaking of gear, in our little jaunt around Saratoga to get back to Vaquero's, I found REI (it's either in that same shopping center or else just a bit further down the road, I was too busy looking for the right intersection to really note which one). So, you could go hook yourself up with titanium sporks if you want. ;)
