The past several Tuesdays have scraped mightily for him for reasons entirely aside from the social event you mention. Although I cannot speak for him, I would be very surprised if his mood was solely (or even primarily) due to that. Especially given this Tuesday and what he found out about his father.
Your response strikes me as implying that he's being sulky, and does him a disservice. Not to mention the fact that you are presuming to speak for him. You have no business doing so, even if he had specifically told you that the social event was behind this post.
Well, actually, you're both partially correct IMO. It isn't all about the event that dawnd references, or even mostly about it. There has been enough other unpleasantness lately on Tuesdays to qualify (like last week's couples therapy session, say). At the same time, I didn't interpret her as speaking for me, per se, and untimely references to that event last night by tenacious_snail were like putting salt on an already-opened wound...
1) I did not mean to "speak for" Brian (though I can see how it might have been interpreted that way). However, it is an incontrovertible fact that there is an ongoing event on Tuesdays that causes him difficulty. Therefore, the answer to THAT PORTION of her question (which is the only portion I so foolishly presumed to answer) is "yes." Even my statement about his feelings in the matter is based on many conversations between us, and is, I believe, utterly accurate.
2) I did not mean to imply he's being sulky. I believe that to have been your interpretation, and not present in my words.
3) I regret any implication that the event was the ONLY reason for his feeling like Tuesdays scrape lately. I was too terse in trying to address only that portion of the question that I had any understanding of.
