I'm completely unprepared for teaching a class of 5th-graders in an hour... no lesson plan, I'm just going to have to wing it on plate tectonics and crustal evolution and morphology. Grab a bag of rock specimens and some fossils...

Otherwise, things since Spain have shaped up as a long slog to get me to next Friday, when I go to Japan. I don't know what I'll do after I'm back from that trip.

Post-Japan...I think you get back on like the 26th?

I know we haven't calendared anything between your return and Nov. 12, but I'd like to get some dates in there (my schedule is currently open, we can go over it on Sunday). In addition, Dawn and I want organize a dance outing with you, and I suspect you will attend a Halloween or Samhain gathering or two. (I think two sets of friends of ours are having parties, one in SF, one in Oakland). If there are still Braves games when you get back, that will be worth watching.

So, in addition to some regularly scheduled things like W&S, S&P, and the return of skating classes, it looks to me like you've got about five things to be scheduled in the two weeks after your return, and also a rather busy mid-November.

I managed to draw parallels between convection in magma plumes and tornadoes in the atmosphere and mugs of hot cocoa. ;)
